Are you capitalising on the search trend happening right now?

If you have all of the back to school feels now that summer is winding down and the busy holiday sales period is just around the corner, there is a search trend happening right now that you should be prepared to capitalise on.
According to Pinterest, the onset of autumn marks a second wave of searches for things such as organisation, positivity, goal setting and creating a routine. It follows the traditional boom in this kind of search around New Year, with Pinterest attributing the trend to people seeking inspiration after feeling energised by the summer period.

The culture and community manager at Pinterest, Enid Hwang explains “Over the years, we’ve seen the end of summer become a distinct and significant moment on Pinterest when people want to make personal changes to refresh their routines, set goals, get organized and most importantly, stay positive. We call this mindset ‘back to life’ and find that people have a specific intent around what they’re thinking and feeling as they use Pinterest.”For you as a website owner, it’s incredibly useful for you to be up-to-date with search trends as it provides a fantastic opportunity to tailor your content, social media posts and promotions to this mindset. Doing this allows you to connect with your audience and allows you to offer up material that is perfectly aligned with their state of mind. Not only does this make your brand immediately useful, it can also help to boost visibility, build links and bolster conversions. Organisation : Pinterest notes that searches for ‘life organisation’ has increased by 78% this year. Sustainable products, organisation-related tips and hack videos and budgeting and finance related searches all come under this umbrella. If you’re planning new blogs for your business website, video production or content marketing assets such as ebooks, try tailoring your topics around the organisational theme. Routines : Searches for healthy habit-related topics also spike in autumn, with topics like morning routines, workout routines, weekend routine all increasing in September. Again, use this to inspire your content marketing and social media posts. If you’re in the self-care space, fitness industry or beauty sectors, this trend is of particular importance and should give you lots of inspiration for timely, useful and popular content creation. Positivity : Positivity is also high on the agenda around September with searches for positive quotes to live by up 279% and inspirational poetry quotes up 650%. This is an easy trend to tap into, especially if you already incorporate things like #FeelGoodFriday into your social media schedule. Goal setting : Setting sights on an ambitious new project, a lifetime ambition or career progression is also in full swing at this time of year with searches for dream house plans increasing 669% and travel plans up 2178%. Again, consider how this can be incorporated into your digital marketing and on page content to make a worthwhile connection with your audience and capitalise on this search trend.
