Being in employment has many advantages and disadvantages for us all. Whether it is the security of a guaranteed salary at the end of the month or the opportunity to work our way up the corporate ladder, many people prefer the security of a job. However, the focus of today’s blog is to highlight some of the indications that your job might not be right for you anymore. With that said, let’s get started.

1. Stress is affecting your health
Stress related to the workplace is a way for your body to tell you that something needs to change. Stress does not necessarily mean being over worked, boredom and lack of stimulation can also have a similar effect. As seen on numerous occasions, stress can also have a negative impact on your family life and personal relationships.

2. Relationship with co-workers breaks down
Another sign that employment might not be right for you is if you regularly fall out with your colleagues at work or feel irritated by your manager. Being annoyed with colleagues at work can be attributed to dissatisfaction with your current role. Now might be the time to start evaluating your options.

3. You are not using your skills
Not having your skills utilised within the workplace can also be a sign that it is time to move on. If you do not feel as though you are learning new skills or developing, you may feel as though your chances of progression are limited. Without opportunities to grow it is only a short period until you begin to stagnate.

4. You do not share the same values as your company
The longer remain at an organisation, the greater the realisation in most cases that the company has changed significantly since you first joined. As a result, it is not uncommon to no longer feel comfortable with the work ethic, values or direction the organisation is taking with the only solution being to seek pastures new.

5. Your dream opportunity is out there
In some instances, there may not be anything wrong with your current job but it does not compare to your dream opportunity. Sometimes you need to follow your heart and do something you love in order to develop your true potential.

As we have seen, there can be many signs that point to your current role not being the right role for you. A viable and enjoyable alternative is to strike it on your own, to become your own boss. No office politics, no daily commute to work and the freedom to take charge. To find out how Eazi-Apps can help you unlock the entrepreneur within you, contact us today.
