The latest popular app updates you might have missed

With so many new mobile apps hitting the market every day (over 2000, to be precise) it’s difficult for consumers to keep up to date with current trends and updates. It also means that app development companies have an increasing number of brands to compete with, which means it’s even more important for them to keep their product up to date and their users happy. Here are some examples of recent updates to popular apps which show how big names are staying relevant.

Uber

The popular private taxi company has risen to become one of the most used apps in the world but has still been making efforts to update their service and improve the customer experience. The most recent update by the developers at Uber now allows users to select multiple drop-offs or pick-up points which makes the app a more suitable choice for group travel.

Snapchat

With over 178 million active daily users, Snapchat is a powerhouse in the world of mobile apps but it has also continued to improve and update. The latest update is a great example of how app developers can integrate new technologies to improve their product. The latest Snapchat update utilises augmented reality, allowing users to bring their Bitmoji avatar to life.

Instagram

Instagram has become a powerful social media platform and digital marketing tool for brands and influencers all over the world and recently the app’s development team have added a polling feature that allows users to get feedback on their content. This is a free and useful tool for any new brands or development companies hitting the digital market and looking for genuine feedback.

Twitter

The global social media platform has rapidly become one of the most powerful forces in the world of news and entertainment. Everyone from the president of the US to the local shop owner has a Twitter account but there has been one major criticism throughout the app’s existence, the character limit. Twitter has finally brought out an update which has doubled the allowed number of characters per Tweet from 140 to 280.

WhatsApp

In order to help improve the user experience, WhatsApp has recently introduced an update that allows anyone sending messages via the internet-based communication app to delete a message that was sent by mistake or unnecessarily.

Not all of these updates may seem like huge changes that will revolutionise the app market however they serve as an example to any developers looking to break into the app market that it is important to always listen to consumer feedback and improve your product.
