5 effective ways of improving app market feedback

Rebecca Appleton • 1 May 2018

For any developer or app business, it’s essential that you improve the user experience in order to maximise engagement. Collecting and analysing user feedback is an effective way of monitoring the success of your app and can also provide insightful information about bugs or usability issues. Here are some of the best ways to monitor and improve user feedback which can help improve your app business opportunities.

Use push notifications

Market research has shown how successful push notifications can be when promoting app updates, new products and special offers but they can also be a great tool for encouraging user feedback. App reviews and user comments can provide vital information about your app’s UX so it’s important to gently remind your users to share their thoughts about their experience. Boosting the amount of feedback you receive gives you more to work from.

Improve user experience

It may seem obvious but in order to ensure that you get positive feedback from users, you need to ensure that they have a positive experience. The development process doesn’t stop when your app hits the market. It’s vital that you continue to improve and update your app to increase the UX and keep up with current trends.

Regularly monitor feedback

Trying to promote an app and increase essential marketing KPIs while ensuring the app itself is free from bugs can often take priority over monitoring user feedback. However, it’s essential that you regularly check comments from users otherwise you may overlook problems which could cause more severe issues further down the line.

Directly address user problems

You may often get generic negative feedback that lacks any kind of constructive criticism but if there are genuine problems being flagged up in the comments section of whichever app market you are using, it’s important to address the issue. The best way to improve negative feedback and convert users that have had bad experiences is by looking into the problem and actively fixing it. This will also establish your brand as more trustworthy as you are listening to your users.

Encourage social media

Social media has become a global platform for consumers to share their opinions and thoughts about everything. It may take a while to sift through comments and find the root of an issue but if you want raw feedback from your users, it’s essential that you engage with social media platforms like Facebook and encourage your users to do the same.
