With the penetration of mobile smartphones increasing at an ever expanding rate, a recent study by eMarketer has found that approximately 25% of the world’s population will have a smartphone by the end of 2014. Let us think about this for a moment, by the turn of the year, one in four people globally will have a smartphone device and will use it frequently for their daily tasks.

Although this is a significant jump from last year, further research suggests that by the end of 2017, over one third of people will be using smartphones around the globe. However, one note of caution to these numbers is that there is no distinction between the level of adoption and usage of individual countries.
With all the data and research pointing to the expansion of the mobile industry, how does this relate to businesses and where do you fit into this exciting industry?

– Businesses need to go mobile – with mobile usage increasing at a phenomenal rate, every business trading today needs a mobile footprint in place. A mobile website is a great way to acquire new customers who have searched for a business and landed on their website. By offering a mobile optimised website, a business can keep customers on their website for longer, thus maximising the opportunity to acquire a new customer.

The mobile app on the other hand is primarily focused on customer retention as it offers the opportunity for customers to interact with a business. From shopping carts to loyalty initiatives, businesses can offer feature rich mobile apps that entice their existing customer base to interact with the business all year round.

– Your role – as the above information has demonstrated, the mobile market shows no signs of receding with businesses having a need to cater for this significant change in the technological landscape. By entering this market space, you can make a real impact in your business community by helping businesses to connect with their customers on their preferred medium, namely mobile.

Unlike many opportunities in the business world, entering the mobile landscape opens up various industries that you can target. Whether it is popular restaurant in the centre of town or an upmarket legal firm, you have the tools and resources to help businesses leverage mobile technology.

To find out how you can enter the mobile industry and produce mobile solutions for businesses without any technical experience, please contact the head office team today.
