Why is this information useful for your search marketing and web content plans? To decide what’s trending – and set to be hot next year – Pinterest monitors what its community of 250 million users are searching for. If a topic gets more searches every month for at least six months, it’s classed as trending. This information is invaluable for your marketing efforts because it tells you what your audience has an appetite for. It can be used as a source of inspiration for your content marketing, used to determine social media posts and mined for new webpage and blog content – all with the knowledge that there is an appetite for those themes. By using this interest, you can better engage your audience, drive them to your website and help them along that path to purchase. As Pinterest says, “This is your chance to get a jump on what’s inspiring people for 2019. These trends are what people around the world are dreaming about. Ask yourself: What products, services and other ideas can your business spotlight—in your stores or online—to help people bring those dreams to life?”So, what is set to be hot in 2019?No matter your industry, these are the topics and products that consumers want to know more about, according to Pinterest… Travel In the travel sector, there’s a growing trend for going off the beaten path with searches for less touristy islands, out-of-the-way destinations and eco-friendly transport like bike tours and zero waste travel all high on the agenda. Health and wellness There’s a growing appetite for holistic and natural health, with superfood searches and natural remedies on the rise. Non-alcoholic drink ideas, nutrition plans and zero-waste packaging are also subject of many searches. Food Foodies in 2019 are loving big family-sized sharing platters set for grazing in the middle of the table, mushroom everything from coffee to chocolate bars, bread baking, dairy free milk, and quick foil pack dinner recipes. Home Décor If you’re in the home or design space, expect to see your consumers loving yellow, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, natural swimming pools, geometric shapes, bold wallpaper in place of paint and vintage style everything. How to use these trendsIn addition to use these much in demand topics to inform your content creation, you can also work these themes into your website design graphics, such as your home page sliders, into brochures, retail displays if you have a physical store and even your product photography when populating your new ecommerce website design.
