Make the most of your social media presence with these quick networking tips

If the lockdown has given you more time to begin thinking about building your personal brand, and exploring strategies to safeguard your business with enhanced sales and marketing activity, you could well have been considering how to make more of LinkedIn.
The social network for professionals is an excellent source of leads, with HubSpot research concluding that LinkedIn’s 2.74% highest traffic-to-lead conversion rate is the highest of any social network, and 277% higher than both Facebook and Twitter. What’s more, it’s a key outlet for reaching decision makers, making it an indispensable tool for entrepreneurs looking to grow their web design or app design agency business. Here are a few easy ways you can level-up your LinkedIn profile in just a few minutes a day:
Interact with others from your home page feed
Your first opportunity to level up your LinkedIn profile comes the moment you log on to the platform. In your home page stream you’ll see all recent updates from your connections. Successful networking on this platform isn’t just about sharing your own updates and shouting about your own accomplishments, it’s about interacting with others. Take a few minutes each day to comment on posts shared by your connections, like updates and add your thoughts.
Monitor connection requests
You’ll see an alert at the top of your screen when anyone sends you a connection request. Be on top of these as you could have prime connections coming in which you aren’t seeing if you aren’t proactive about reviewing. Filter through all requests regularly, paying attention to those with connections in common.
Send your own connection requests
Make a point of sending connection requests every few days. You’ll see a people you may know edit when you log in to help you do that but you can also view the connections of your connections. Create a tailored message for each, explaining why you’d like to connect and anything you have in common.
Join groups
LinkedIn has tens of thousands of groups – joining one or two appropriate to you and your business gives you the opportunity to connect with other users, share your expertise and discuss topics relevant to you. Keep it to one or two so you have sufficient time to make meaningful contributions and nurture those relationships.
Share an article
Make a point of creating content specifically to share on LinkedIn. Keep in mind your audience of professionals and share content that they will find useful, educational and helpful rather than sales- driven. This is your chance to showcase your expertise and demonstrate your credentials. Crafting thought leadership content just for LinkedIn also means that you’ll be more visible on feeds, which can increase engagement rates and spark new conversations.
Try LinkedIn ads
As with all other major networks, LinkedIn has a robust advertising ecosystem. Thanks to the nature of demographic information it holds on users, LinkedIn ads can be very finely targeted to help you get in front of exactly the right people to increase leads. Try setting up a small ad campaign and monitor your results. LinkedIn’s own stats say that LinkedIn ads generate three times the conversion rates of other ad formats, including Google Ads.
