Tips for maintaining good app development practices

In a rapidly growing mobile industry with so many new technologies and trends hitting the market every quarter, it can be hard for companies to ensure that they are operating effectively and ethically. The development of any new digital product or program involves the generation and development of data which means it’s becoming increasingly important to ensure that your company and your user base are protected. Here are some tips to help you during the app development process.

Security

The last decade has seen a number of scandals involving global tech companies and leaked information. Whether you’re planning to develop an online marketplace or a communications app, the process of developing and maintaining your app will involve the storage and handling of sensitive information. It’s vital to ensure that your users’ personal data is stored on protected servers in order to reduce the risk of loss and give them peace of mind. If your app grants the user access to sensitive data, it’s also important that you implement an effective authentication process at the login stage.

Code of conduct

Depending on which digital platform you will be releasing your app on, there will be a set of rules and guidelines in place that stipulate certain standards and criteria. For example, if you are planning to release your app on Apple’s App Store, there are certain requirements regarding third-party content and product extensions. If you’re planning to extend the lifespan of your digital product, make sure that you’ve read through the guidelines carefully and have made efforts to adhere to them.

Original code

As an app developer you likely already know this but it’s a point well worth revisting –  it’s vital that you do not use any copyrighted content or code that you are not licenced to use. There have been a number of apps removed from digital marketplaces after it was discovered they contained stolen or recycled code. Respecting intellectual property laws is an important part of operating ethically when running your app development business.

Documenting

Planning and documenting are extremely useful habits to adopt when developing apps. Planning out your project from start to finish helps you stay on track and ensures that the process is completed as smoothly as possible. Documenting your progress and archiving all of the resources you used during the development process will also help you and your staff to follow good practise.

Your homepage is your agency’s first handshake. If it’s unclear, cluttered, or generic—you’re losing potential clients in seconds. Here's what your homepage actually needs to convert visitors into leads. 1. A Headline That Tells Them What You Do “Helping local businesses grow with mobile apps and digital tools.” Make it specific, client-focused, and benefit-driven. If it could apply to anyone, it applies to no one. 2. A Strong Subheadline That Builds Trust “Trusted by 1,000+ entrepreneurs across 20 countries.” This is your social proof shortcut. Numbers work. So do logos and testimonials. 3. A Visual That Shows the Result Use mockups, screenshots, or lifestyle photos. Help visitors see what they’ll get—a mobile app, a dashboard, a website, a client smiling. 4. A Short List of Benefits (Not Features) Launch your digital presence fast No tech skills required Support and tools included Keep it tight. Think “what’s in it for me?” from the client’s point of view. 5. A Clear Call to Action (CTA) “Book a free call” “Get your launch pack” “See what’s possible” CTAs should stand out visually and be repeated 2–3 times on the page. 6. A Simple Contact Form or Button Make it easy to get in touch or book. Remove friction. Don’t ask for more than name, email, and one question. Pro tip: You don’t need to design from scratch. The Eazi-Business Business-in-a-Box gives you ready-made homepage templates with proven structure, persuasive copy blocks, and branding flexibility. Use our pre-built website framework to launch with confidence and convert faster.
