The best sources for copyright free images

Rebecca Appleton • 26 June 2018

You know the old saying – a picture is worth a thousand words. But whether you’re looking to create an eye-catching social media post to publicise your latest client win or app download milestone, or fancy updating your site with a new picture, images can be expensive, especially if you need to use them for commercial purposes.

If you have taken up our app development business opportunity, we’ll provide you with lots of resources and support including here on our blog. As part of that, here are a few sources for copyright free images you can download and use when you need a great quality picture in a pinch, without having to pay through the nose for it!

Pexels

Pexels has a database of thousands of free stock photos – so if you need a library image, an eye-catching picture or flat lay in a hurry, you might be able to find it here. The photos here are high quality and totally free, thanks to the Creative Commons Zero license. There’s an easy search function and a choice of sizes, with no registration required to search, download or use. Millions of contributors make their photos available via Pexels, so there is a good mix of styles and subject matter to choose from.

Pixabay

Like Pexels, the Pixabay website is a treasure trove of totally free images which you can search, download and use. Whether you want to add some pop to a business proposal or create a more eye-catching blog post, social media update or even Insta post, it’s easy to do with Pixabay.

Pixabay has more than 1.4 million royalty free stock photos and videos. As well as photographs, it has a good store of vector graphics and illustrations. Again, you can download any of the community files free of charge with no special, costly license needed for commercial use. A variety of sizes are also available.

Canva

Canva is a graphic design tool – probably the easiest in the world infact – so if you are trying to create something for your app business, such as a leaflet, a Facebook cover or even an infographic, it’s a good bet you can do it with Canva. As well as pre-made templates across a whole host of content formats, from ebooks to invitations, there are also free images to use within your designs. There’s a free and paid option plus the choice of buying stock images cheaply from the library if you can’t find a free one to suit.

Your homepage is your agency’s first handshake. If it’s unclear, cluttered, or generic—you’re losing potential clients in seconds. Here's what your homepage actually needs to convert visitors into leads. 1. A Headline That Tells Them What You Do “Helping local businesses grow with mobile apps and digital tools.” Make it specific, client-focused, and benefit-driven. If it could apply to anyone, it applies to no one. 2. A Strong Subheadline That Builds Trust “Trusted by 1,000+ entrepreneurs across 20 countries.” This is your social proof shortcut. Numbers work. So do logos and testimonials. 3. A Visual That Shows the Result Use mockups, screenshots, or lifestyle photos. Help visitors see what they’ll get—a mobile app, a dashboard, a website, a client smiling. 4. A Short List of Benefits (Not Features) Launch your digital presence fast No tech skills required Support and tools included Keep it tight. Think “what’s in it for me?” from the client’s point of view. 5. A Clear Call to Action (CTA) “Book a free call” “Get your launch pack” “See what’s possible” CTAs should stand out visually and be repeated 2–3 times on the page. 6. A Simple Contact Form or Button Make it easy to get in touch or book. Remove friction. Don’t ask for more than name, email, and one question. Pro tip: You don’t need to design from scratch. The Eazi-Business Business-in-a-Box gives you ready-made homepage templates with proven structure, persuasive copy blocks, and branding flexibility. Use our pre-built website framework to launch with confidence and convert faster.
