With mobile technology advancing at a phenomenal rate, from smartphones to tablets, businesses and consumers are looking for the latest technology to satisfy their growing needs. When the first iPhone launched in 2007, many analysts predicted that apps and mobile technology would be a consumer only industry. However, such has been the rapid adoption and implementation of mobile technology in all aspects of modern day life; many businesses globally are now viewing mobile technology trends as integral to their long term strategy.

The focus of today’s blog is to highlight mobile technology trends that will be sure to affect your life in some way over the next 12 months.

Big Screens : with the trend continuing for mobile devices to get slimmer and lightweight, there is now a real emphasis on larger screen displays for the modern handset. The benefit of larger mobile displays will allow more vibrant and dynamic screens, helping to engage the consumer for longer.

4G Connectivity : mobile technology is largely dependent on connecting users to the internet effortlessly and quickly. With the 4G rollout throughout the UK gathering pace, accessing information and taking advantage of a higher speed service has never been easier.

Android Dominance : officially the most widely used operating system in the mobile industry. Running on hundreds of product lines, Android is fast becoming the go to platform for mobile apps.

• Near Field Communication: although NFC has not hit the dizzy heights many predicted, it is now being implemented in many mobile handsets and this trend is set to continue.

Slim and Light : mobile companies across the globe are releasing increasingly slimmer and lighter devices than previous models. This trend is set to grow as mobile manufacturers experiment with materials such as graphene.

Better Small Tablets : with tablets becoming ever more popular with consumers, many mobile companies are looking to deliver improved 7-inch tablets following the success of the iPad Mini. Customers should expect to find high quality screens, more 4G connectivity and striking designs in the tablet market.

Mobile Business Emphasis : with mobile apps having been around for a number of years now, there was a notion that the business world was immune to the advances in mobile technology. However, fast forward 5 years and the majority of businesses globally are now thinking mobile apps. With the mobile app market predicted to grow by over 1000% in the next 3 years, the trend for mobile apps that appeal to businesses is set to expand rapidly.

As we have seen, there are many undeniable mobile technology trends that are gathering momentum to bridge the gap between customers and the way they interact with businesses. To find out how you can help businesses leverage the popularity of mobile technology, please contact us today.
