Can You Build Mobile Apps Without Technical Skills?

In an age where products and services are becoming increasingly sophisticated and specialised we wanted to explore the opportunity of building mobile applications without technical skills with a thought provoking blog this week. Think of any digital resource you use, whether it is a website, a mobile app or a computer program and one of the things that come to mind is that they were produced by someone very technical.

However, as technology has advanced it has made the building and creating of websites, mobile apps and software in general more accessible to non-technical people. When we use the term non-technical we are referring to individuals who do not have the technical proficiency in a coding language to write software from the ground up. The advent of drag and drop interfaces allows non-technical people to create highly engaging and effective websites, programs and applications without spending years learning and developing their programing skills.

With that being said, the focus of today’s blog is to highlight how you can build mobile applications without technical skills.

Traditional Programming Languages

One of the biggest barriers to non-technical people entering the mobile industry and developing mobile applications is learning to code in different languages depending on whether their app will be published with Android (Google Play) or iOS (App Store). Traditionally, Android apps have been developed in Java which is an object orientated language that powers billions of devices across the globe. In contrast, Swift is used for iOS devices only and supports the core concepts such as dynamic dispatch, widespread late binding and extensible programming features to that of Objective-C.

With distinct differences in both programming languages it requires technical skills to develop for both platforms. However, with the advent of our drag and drop interface, the necessity to learn both Java and Swift has been eliminated. With the coding and programming already completed, pre-built features are inserted into the platform and ready to use.

Pre-Built Features

As we have seen above, the traditional barrier to developing mobile applications has focused on learning the necessary programming languages which are expensive, time consuming and often a complicated process. An alternative is using a pre-built list of features that accomplish many of the key requirements needed in a mobile app that is designed for business use.

Unlike game or entertainment related apps, mobile applications designed for businesses serve a very different purpose. The types of apps you would create as an Eazi-Apps partner focus on helping businesses retain customers and foster engagement between the end user and the client. As a result, it is critically important to have features available that resonate with businesses and customers alike, helping to create brand awareness as well as a smooth user experience.

To facilitate this, a number of engaging features such as ordering systems, customer loyalty programs, reservation modules and push message technology are required. Removing the need to code and program these features make entering the mobile industry accessible to non-technical people who wish to develop apps for local businesses. This allows you to focus on selecting twelve to fourteen features and customising the content within the features to develop mobile apps for virtually any customer facing business.

Conclusion

We have highlighted in previous blogs how building a successful mobile app business requires more than a feature rich platform and outstanding customer care. Having a structured training path, mentoring/coaching tailored to your developmental needs, your own website and a range of marketing materials to help sell your services are all crucial elements to building a sustainable business.

Your homepage is your agency’s first handshake. If it’s unclear, cluttered, or generic—you’re losing potential clients in seconds. Here's what your homepage actually needs to convert visitors into leads. 1. A Headline That Tells Them What You Do “Helping local businesses grow with mobile apps and digital tools.” Make it specific, client-focused, and benefit-driven. If it could apply to anyone, it applies to no one. 2. A Strong Subheadline That Builds Trust “Trusted by 1,000+ entrepreneurs across 20 countries.” This is your social proof shortcut. Numbers work. So do logos and testimonials. 3. A Visual That Shows the Result Use mockups, screenshots, or lifestyle photos. Help visitors see what they’ll get—a mobile app, a dashboard, a website, a client smiling. 4. A Short List of Benefits (Not Features) Launch your digital presence fast No tech skills required Support and tools included Keep it tight. Think “what’s in it for me?” from the client’s point of view. 5. A Clear Call to Action (CTA) “Book a free call” “Get your launch pack” “See what’s possible” CTAs should stand out visually and be repeated 2–3 times on the page. 6. A Simple Contact Form or Button Make it easy to get in touch or book. Remove friction. Don’t ask for more than name, email, and one question. Pro tip: You don’t need to design from scratch. The Eazi-Business Business-in-a-Box gives you ready-made homepage templates with proven structure, persuasive copy blocks, and branding flexibility. Use our pre-built website framework to launch with confidence and convert faster.
